Marodijeh International University is being established with the approval of Somaliland Ministry of Education & Higher Education and Somaliland Higher Education Commission. MIU is the result of recognizing demand for strong academic excellence based on transparency and accountability to be realized through selected Governing Board and an Academic Senate with strong staff and student representation, along with the President, who is the University’s chief executive officer. The University is committed to training the next generation of leaders in Somaliland who are prepared and dedicated to building a more just and sustainable nation. The MIU will support the development of Somaliland by discovering and advancing knowledge, by being committed to the highest standards of academic excellence, and by creating a place where students are prepared for lives of service, leadership and solutions. The main purpose of creating MIU is to enhance the quality of Somaliland’s higher education provisions. MIU strives to become a leading African university by offering a wide range of academic programs – some that are quite specialized in nature, others that are more interdisciplinary and/or problem-based in focus. It is intended that MIU shall be recognized for its innovative approaches to teaching, learning, and connecting with the nation’s vision and research objectives for development.
