The Royal Institute for Research and Policy Studies (RIRPS) was established in 2014 to collaborate with MDAs, NGOs, Development agencies and private sector institutions to undertake development management consultancy services, research activities and policy studies to improve and seek lasting solution to poverty and inequality in the Horn of Africa. Also, RIRPS aims to inform policy and development initiatives in the region, through independent and unbiased research and evidence-based insights on a wide range of sectors such as Governance, Economic development, Climate change, Energy, Social development, Management and Legal Consultancy Services Through its work, the institute aims to contribute to the socio-economic development of the region by generating evidence-based information required for development planning and advocating for policy change. In collaboration with governments, donors, international research institutions and non-governmental organizations, the institute shall identify and implement research and policy advocacy activities that are vital for the governments and development partners to tackle so as to achieve sustainable and inclusive development. Above all, the institute will engage with development partners to develop meaningful partnerships through participation in consortia, joint program development and collaborations on assessments, surveys and program implementation. RIRPS operates within four main domains: 1. Providing high quality consultancy services regarding assessments, surveys and trainings tailored to the needs of its customers 2. Undertaking independent action researches and policy studies 3. Organizing and convening policy debates/dialogue and publishing policy briefs 4. Capacity building for development research and programming
